"Edson Mayer, 70, of Detroit Mich., died of a heart ailment early Monday in Mount Carmel Hospital in Detroit, following a short illness. Born in Austintown township, Nov. 13, 1884, he was a son of John and Caroline Mayer. Mr. Mayer, who was a machinist with the Briggs Mfg. Co., had resided in Detroit thirty years, going there from Canfield. Survivors include his wife, the former Edna Baird of Green township, whom he married in 1924; two sisters, Miss Anna Mayer and Mrs. Catherine Creed, and a brother, John Mayer, all of Austintown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Canfield, where friends may call Thursday evening."
