July 4, 2006) Edna Laney Rodgers of Madisonville, went home to be with her Lord, at 3:34 a.m., Tuesday, July 4, at Parkwest Medical Center. She was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church, where she was active with the W.M.U. and had taught Sunday School for 50 years. She served as an international short-term mission volunteer in Brazil and Panama and was owner of Edna's Creative Styles for 25 years. She was 65. Preceded in death by: twin granddaughters, LeAndra and Lacey Lingerfelt; parents, Charlie and Lura Ogle Laney; brother, Ralph Laney; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erskin and Annie Houston Rodgers; Survivors include: husband of 50 years-Glen Rodgers; Daughters and sons-in-law-Charlene and Rev. Dennis Cagle of St. Louis, Mo.; and Lisa and Danny Lingerfelt of Madisonville; Grandchildren -Tara Strayhorn, Ashley Cagle and Tommy Cagle, all of St. Louis; Brandon Lingerfelt, Kristen Lingerfelt and Halea Lingerfelt, all of Madisonville; Great-granddaughter-Abbi Cagle-Strayhorn; Sister and brother-in-law-Mae and James Cole of Cleveland; Numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was 8 p.m., Thursday, at Island Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Cagle and Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m., Friday, in Island Creek Cemetery.
