Tim A. Newton, 57, died suddenly Wednesday morning (June 18, 1947) at 5:30 o'clock, at his home, 607 Rainey Street.
Funeral services are pending arrival of relatives.
Mr. Newton was employed as a boiler fireman for the Inland Refining Co. He retired from the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1927 after 15 years of service. He was a member of the local Odd Fellows Lodge and a member of the Lovelady Masonic order.
He is survived by his wife (Ella J. Newton); two sons, T.A. Jr., and W.C. Newton, both of Palestine; three grandchildren; one brother, L.E. Newton of Raton; and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Jordan of Tyler.
Pallbearers were announced Wednesday as Pete Peterson, Hugh Dublin, Oscar Johnson, C.W. Hanks, Boyd Carter, Bob Arrington, Odd Fellows, Masons, and all other friends of the family.
