Charles O. Berry, 90, formerly of Owensboro, died at 8:10am Saturday at the Old Mason’s Home in Shelbyville following an illness of two weeks.
Born March 28, 1880 in Henderson, he had lived in Owensboro all his life before moving to Shelbyville three years ago. He was a civil service employee with the U.S. Corps of Engineers before his retirement in 1940.
Berry was a member of the Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, the Knights Templar Chapter of Owensboro and a member of the Kosair Temple of Louisville. He was a Master Mason for more than 50 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Cloverport.
Survivors include a son, George O. of Tell City, Ind.; two granddaughters; and two brothers, Harry and Ralph, both of Louisville.
Services will be at 2pm Tuesday at the Delbert J. Glenn Funeral Home conducted by Dr. William James, pastor of the Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
