Funeral services for Laura M. Smith Flickinger, 90, of Landisburg, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville. She died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield. Born March 16, 1908 in Blain, she was the daughter of the late Jacob A. and Mary A. Neidigh Smith and the widow of Benjamin A. Flickinger. Formerly employed by the Mt. Joy Box Factory and Mt. Joy Grey Iron, she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Blain and Landisburg Ambulance Club. Mrs. Flickinger is survived by three duaghters, Nina M. Wilson, with whom she resided, Dorothy A. Cooper and Irene M. March, both of Carlisle; a sister, Ethel Hess of Elliottsburg; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Ida Johnson, Lottie Shambaugh, Helen Gutshall, Alice Flickinger and Grace Evans, and three brothers, John Smith, Levi Smith and William Smith. The Rev. Donald L. March will officiate at services. Burial will be in Blain Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
