John R. Holland, 67 of Pittsburg died at 7:40 a.m. Monday January 5, 2009 at the Mount Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, KS.
He was born January 24, 1941 in Pittsburg, KS the son of John and Esther King Holland. He lived his entire life in Pittsburg attended Pittsburg Elementary Schools, and was a graduate of Pittsburg High School.
John married Joyce Davis in 1960 in Pittsburg, they were later divorced. He married Elizabeth Davidson in 1977 and they were later divorced. He remarried Joyce Davis Holland in 1998 and she survives at the home.
He was the owner/operator of H&V Alignment in Pittsburg from 1975 until his retirement in 1999.
John was a member of the Pittsburg Masonic Lodge and the Shriners Provost Guard. He loved hunting and fishing with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of the home; children-Robert E. Holland and wife Vicki of Pittsburg, Marilyn Wood and husband Jamie of Oahu, HI, John J. Holland and wife Daniey of Pittsburg, James A. Holland of Topeka; a sister Sharon Haines of CA; 6 Grandchildren Makayla and Matthew Wood of Hawaii, Shelly, Whitnie, Tara and Will Holland all of Pittsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes, John will be taken for cremation, inurnment and private family graveside services will be at a later date in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg.
