HUTCHINSON - Janice K. "Jan" Brawner, 55, died Oct. 15, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born March, 29, 1951, in Wichita, the daughter of Thomas E. and Alice M. Fitzmorris Drake. She graduated from the Mount Caramel Academy in 1969 and attended Emporia State University. A resident of Hutchinson, she was a homemaker and has been a scanning manager for Dillions at the 5th Street location.
On Sept. 20, 1983, she married Jerry L. Brawner in Las Vegas. He survives. Other survivors include: a daughter, Allie Brawner, of the home; two brothers, Terry Drake and wife, Carol, Nordheim, Texas, and Dan Drake and wife, Claudia, Colorado Springs; two sisters, Donna Drake, Colorado Springs, and Tess Egbert and husband, Brian, Hutchinson; several nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a nephew, Adam Egbert.
Service will be at 4 pm Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Johnson officiating. Friends may sign the book Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9 am until service time Thursday. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be sent to Hospice House or the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
