Mrs. Zenoba Steele McCarty, age 77, died at her home in Prairie Grove, Ark, Saturday Jan 2, after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Serena Thomas Steele, who resided in the 81 and Oliver Springs community near Rudy for many years. She was married to John McCarty of St. Paul, Ark. on March 25, 1911, at the family home in the 81 community by the late Rev. John Gentry.
Survivors are her husband, John McCarty; six sons, Elmer, Ray, Charles, J.D. and Hollis McCarty of near Fayetteville and Chester McCarty of Oklahoma; four daughters, Mrs Grace Morton, Mrs Gladys Cox and Mrs. Pauline Wist of near Fayetteville, and Mrs Betty Rinehart of Pine Bluff; one sister, Mrs. Edna Aaron of Little Rock, and one brother, Claude Steele of Chelsea, Okla.
Funeral service was held at 2 o'clock Tuesday in the funeral chapel at Prairie Grove, with burial in the cemetery there.
