John F. Merriman at Rest

Services for John F. Merriman of the Oxoboxo section of Montville were held yesterday afternoon at Gager's funeral parlors in Norwich at 2 o'clock. The service was conducted by the Rev. Walter S. Oddy of Union Baptist church. Mr. Oddy sang the Old Rugged Cross. Internment was in the West Plain Cemetery, Norwich, where committal services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Oddy. The bearers were Jeremiah Clifford, Stanley R. Hammond, Clarence Taylor, John Tephley, Harold Gorton, and Peter Carolias.

Wounded (shot) at an altercation at the Hotel Victory in East McKeesport, PA on November 7, 1903. See the memorial for his brother-in-law, Timothy Dalton, who was killed in the same fracas.

Myrtle A. Merriman Tate (1891 - ?)

Charles Elburt Merriman, Sr. was a grandson that was raised as a son.
