Born to Margaret Elizabeth Hodge- Father unknown. Served with the United States Army in the WWI with the 34th Engineers, Co A. His discharge paperwork states that he enlisted at age 24. Described as 5' 6" tall, with blue eyes, brown hair and dark complexion, discharged Aug 12, 1919 and approved by Col. J.P. Wade for Victory Medal with France dated Nov 26,1920. Married Ethel Viola Botts May 27, 1922.
