Elizabeth B. Rohrbaugh
HANOVER - Elizabeth "Betty" Boose Alwood Rohrbaugh, 88, loving wife of Dean B. Rohrbaugh for 58 years, entered into God's eternal care on Thursday, January 1, 2009, at her home.
Born March 14, 1920, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Eva (Sheely) Boose, and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Alwood, who died August 11, 1944.
A 1939 graduate of Littlestown High School, she was manager of the Village Book Store for 15 years. She was a life member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, a member of the Hanover VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and was active with both the Hanover and National Chapters of AARP.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jill Elizabeth Riddle and her husband, John; a granddaughter, Nicole Elizabeth Leesley and her husband, Steve; and a grandson, Matthew Ryan Riddle.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2009, at Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Hanover, with the Rev. Kirk A. Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The viewing will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
