At around 5.30 pm on Thursday, January 3rd, there was an explosion in the Yenisehir neighbourhood of Diyarbakir as a military car was passing by. Initially, four people were said to have died, but another person died later. They were all civilians, two of them pupils.
The dead have been identified as Cengiz Kaya, Eren Sahin, Melek Ipek, Ridvan Süer and Ferhat Mutlu.
