Steve [Koonce], age 40, was born July 10, 1952 in OKC and passed away Feb. 6, 1993 in OKC. Steve graduated from Capitol Hill H.S. in 1970. He received a Bachelor's degree from Central State Univ. and his Master's degree at Southern Nazarene Univ. Steve had been a Band Director at Tuttle, Dale, Harrah and Bethany Public Schools. He was presently a Music Instructor at Moore Upper Central Grade School. He was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church, where in the past he had been the Church Organist. Beginning at the age of 16 yrs old, Steve has played the piano and organ and has also served as the Minister of Music for various churches.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and 2 sons, Brandon and Brent, all of the home; his parents, John and Alpha Koonce of Norman; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Vernice Martin of OKC; 1 brother, Stanley of Moore; 1 sister, Theresa Hayes of Lawrence, Ks; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Highland Hills Baptist Church in OKC with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle.
