Laverne Stitt, 94, of Midway Street died at 7:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was a member of Apostolic Church in North Vernon.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street. Calling will be from noon until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mrs. Stitt was born Dec. 27, 1907, in Rushville, the daughter of Charles and Rosella Partlow Butts.

Survivors include grandchildren, Lloyd Eugene Curtis, Bobby Lockherd and Cuba Perry–Stone; and nine great–grandchildren, 25 great–great–grandchildren and one great–great–great–grandchild.

She was preceded in death by husbands, William Lockherd, Dory Hudson and Earl Stitt; a son, Robert Charles Lockherd; and a daughter, Charlotte Mae Curtis.
