Betty Vasquez, age 69, a long time resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on December 25, 2008 in Colorado Springs. Betty was born March 7, 1939 in Walsenburg, Colorado, a daughter of the late Leo and Mary Inez Sandoval Martinez.

She enjoyed going to Cripple Creek, shopping, cooking and talking on the phone. Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had worked at Hewlett Packard.

She is survived by her two sons, Anthony Vasquez and David (Raina) Vasquez and a daughter, Jennifer (David) Martinez all of Colorado Springs; three brothers, Joey Martinez, Theodore Martinez, both of Colorado Springs and Marshal Martinez of Pueblo; sisters, Mary Davis and Pat Sanderson both of Colorado Springs; four grandchildren, Andrea Martinez, David A. Vasquez, Briana Martinez, of Colorado Springs and Jenea Vasquez-Sutton, of Pueblo; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Vasquez on June 28, 2008. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church-Southgate, 1830 S. Corona, Colorado Springs. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
