Rosie Viola Bishop was born on February 2, 1888 in Erath County, Texas to John Daniel Boone Bishop and Margaret Peters.

Rosie had many brothers and sisters; Nealer Mamme, James Thomas, Clarence H., William F., Walter Lee, John E., Luther M. and Dora May.

Rosie married Richard Emmit Batchelor on Sept. 30, 1905. To this union were born six sons and six daughters; son, Emmett Lee, son, Everett Leon (who married Vera Ishman / Amie S. McCuller Batchelor), daughter, Irene Agusta, daughter, Maggie Arizona, daughter, Dessie Lorene, daughter, Cleo Marie (who married John "Papa John" McCuller), daughter, Rosie Viola, son, R.V., son, Robert "Mutt" Daniel, son, Wanda "Ray" Ray, daughter, Della Fay, son, Delbert Savoyee (who was born May 9, 1918 and died Dec. 19, 1918).

Rosie is survived by one brother, Luther Bishop; one sister, Dora Jackson; 40 grandchildren; 120 great- grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Austin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Elders G.P. Allen and C.M. Peurcell officiating.
