Coded AR-O. Airborne 2302 16Jun43 from Binbrook for Cologne. Flak damaged on the raid. On return, the pilot called up Binbrook to report that his hydraulics had been shot away and that he was going to attempt to land at Elsham Wolds. The aircraft crashed at 0445 while attempting to land at Elsham Wolds airfield, Lincolnshire. Sgt R.T.Harman, Sgt J.C.Plummer , Sgt L.M.McDonnell , Sgt D.S.Gent , Sgt (AG) W.Brodie , all perished in this incident.
