WHITE HALL — Beatrice Browning Ballew, 89, of White Hall, died Sunday at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Jan. 25, 1917, at Star City, a daughter of the late Alphew Browning and Susie Burns Browning.

She was reared and received her early education in Harmony Schools.

She worked in the feather department of Ben Pearson Inc.

She was a member of Eastside United Pentecostal Church of God.

Survivors include four sons, Johnie Ballew of Rison, Calvin Ballew of Pangburn, Clifton Ballew of Little Rock and Jimmy Ballew of Star City; two daughters, Thelma Webb of Star City and Pamela McMurtrey of Pine Bluff; one brother, Barron Browning of Little Rock; five sisters, Pauline Robinson, Mary Reed, Shirley Williams and Barbara Garrison, all of Pine Bluff, and Betty Reed of El Dorado; 26 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnie W. Ballew, whom she married July 24, 1931, at Pine Bluff; three daughters, Dorothy Hollis, Sibyle Johnston and Louise Wingard; two brothers, Lee Ray Browning and Alphew Browning Jr.; two sisters, Charlotte Browning and Veoma Bass; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with the Revs. Brian Kesterson and George Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family will be at 1506 Dancing Rabbit, the home of Pam McMurtrey.
