Mr. Woodard Dies Here; Rentz Native

James Ira Woodard, 68, of Rentz, died Monday in a local hospital after an extended illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Baker Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Martin and the Rev. Arthur Foskey officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

A life-long resident of Laurens County, Mr. Woodard was a member and deacon of Baker Baptist Church. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World Camp 1775 and was employed by J.P. Stevens Co.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Addie Bell Woodard of Rentz; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Baggett of Dublin; three sons, James M. Woodard of Rentz, Malcolm K. Woodard of Dublin and Leroy Woodard of Ackworth; six sisters, Mrs. Penny Oliver of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Mrs. Ethel Goff of Zellwood, Fla., Mrs. Avis Howell, Mrs. Clyde Allen, Mrs. Tommy McCarey and Mrs. Dolly Mae Howell, all of Dublin.

Other survivors include two half-sisters, Mrs. Lora McMullan of Douglas and Miss Bertha Woodard of Tallahassee, Fla.; four half-brothers, Donald Woodard, J. D. Woodard, W. A. Woodard and William Woodard, all of Douglas; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harold Alligood, Hilton Hobbs, Prentice Register, Morris Browning, Albert Warren and Quillian Holland.

Stanley Funeral Home of Dublin has charge of arrangements.
