EDNA M. WARDS
Services for Edna Mae Wards, 87, formerly of the
Pomona/Quenemo area, who died Thursday in Osawatomie, will
be at 2:30 pm Saturday at the Dengel and Son Mortuary with
burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. Rev. Darroll
McNabb will officiate.
Mrs. Wards was born July 31, 1885 in Ottawa and was the daughter of Burton and Mary Ellen (Melvin) Ashcraft. She married Aaron Edmond Wards August 10, 1909 in Lyndon. He died July 11 1959.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene H. Wards of Olathe
and Ralph A. Wards, Overland Park and a daughter Mrs.Myrtle Jones,Melvern; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Two sons and a daughter preceeded her in death*.
Friends may call at the mortuary from this evening
until time of the service.
*Two sons were Francis and a baby possibly named Marion.
Another daughter Odessa Wards Smith died shortly after giving birth to a little girl. This information was given by Marie Armstrong, niece of Edna's.
