GOTTFRIED MIELKE
Gottfried Mielke was born in Pumerland in the province of Pomerania, Germany in 1843.

He married Albertina Wilhelmina Naimets in 1864, who was born the 22 July 1842.

In 1867 they immigrated to America and settled in Chicago, Illinois, where Albertina had a sister, Mrs. Wenskey.

After 1871, they moved to Sibley Co., Minn. and resided until 1876 and then moved to Rush Lake Township, Otter Tail Co., Minn., where they were some of the first settlers.

The Mielkes had the following children:
1. Herman Joseph born in Germany 10 Feb. 1866 and resided in Portland, Oreg.
2. Mume Mary born 9 March 1869 in Illinois, married Geo. E. Ritter of Chicago.
3. John born 13 Feb. 1871 in Chicago prior to the great Chicago fire, married Anna Marie Ziegler 1 June 1898, and resided in Salem, Oreg.
4. Mary born 11 Feb. 1873, adopted by John McNieltys and married to Peter Kirsifen and lived in Portland, Oreg.
5. Olia Eleas
6. Agnes born 31 Dec. 1875 and deceased after her 10th birthday,
7. Ida born 6 April 1877 married to Olsen of Superior, Wisc.
8. Grace born 18 Nov. 1878 and deceased as an infant.
9. Gottfred Charley born 13 Oct. 1879, married 11 Nov 1901 to Anna Wegener who was born 20 Jan. 1871. They resided in Richville.
10. Albert Ferdinand born 25 March 1881, married Lena Frieberg and resided in Spokane, Wash.

Gottfried Mielke passed away in Ottertail City at the age of 47 years on the 9th of Nov. 1890 from asthma.

Albertina passed away at the age of 82 years, on the 26 July 1924. Both are buried in Ottertail City, Lutheran Church Cemetery.
