Marion Ethel Moore was born on 20 Sep 1895 at "Mountain View", Buckingham Co., VA. She was christened circa 1896 at Liberty Chapel, Buckingham Co., VA. Married at the home, at Six Mile Bridge. Moved to Hat Creek Community, after her marriage, and transfered her membership to Beulah Baptist Church. A loyal member, she served as a teacher of the Ladies Bible Class and active in Woman's Missionary Society, serving as it's president for a time. Marion attended Jeter Institute in Bedford until it closed and completed her work at Virginia Christian College, (now Lynchburg College) in 1913. She also attended Farmville Normal School (now Longwood College) and Harrisonburg Normal School (now James Madison University). She taught school at Red Oak in Charlotte County; Hat Creek and Marysville in Campbell County; West End School in Lynchburg; and a private school at the Brickyard, Six Mile Bridge. Hat Creek is the oldest settlement in what is now Campbell County. It is now on Route 1, Brookneal, Virginia. Buried at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Rt 1 Brookneal, Campbell County, VA circa 1905. She married Herman Bailey, son of William Marshall Bailey and Bessie Viola Holt, on 29 Apr 1920 at Six Mile Bridge, Campbell Co., VA. She was buried on 28 Sep 1980 at Beulah Baptist Cemetery, Broolneal, VA. She died on 28 Sep 1980 at Harrisonburg, Rockingham Co., VA, at age 85.
