Elizabeth Bohn was born October 2, 1914, a daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Fisher) Bohn in Karlsruhe, ND. She was raised and educated in the Karlsruhe and Velva Public Schools. As a young girl, she worked on her family's farm and dairy business.
On January 22, 1935, she was united in marriage to Pius Wald in Karlsruhe, ND. They lived in Norwich and north of Velva until 1943 when they moved to the Bill Robertson farm east of Velva. She and Pius and their children raised grain and ran a dairy business for several years. They moved to Velva in 1967. Pius died March 17, 1991.
Liz loved reading, listening to music, gardening and raising flowers. She bowled for many years and enjoyed game shows, fishing, word find books and scrabble, a game she won most of the time! She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making favorite foods for her children and grandchildren when they came home to visit her home was open to all and her hospitality never faltered. She was a good friend and a woman who shared her wisdom, her love and her faith with grace, dignity and a ready smile. She will be missed for all this and so much more. We were blessed to have her in our lives.
Liz was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, the church choir, was a Eucharistic minister, St. Cecilia Confraternity of Christian Mothers for 50 years Voltaire Homemakers Club, Velva Senior Citizens and was a volunteer for the Souris Valley Care Center.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pius, and a son Alexander, sister: Eva, Jenny, Mary, Agatha, Katherine, Wilma and a brother Joseph.
