Aaron August Hansen, age 82, passed away on Christmas day, 2008 in Sandy, Utah.

Aaron, son of Johan Godfred Hansen and Karen Kirstine Jorgensen Hansen, was born Novemver 30, 1926 in Pocatello, Idaho. He married Myrtle Ester Smith in Salt Lake City on November 15, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle and four children, Erin Lee Curtis, Reed S. Hansen, Jon D. Hansen, and Tori Martin along with 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Aaron is preceded in death by his parents, Johan and Karen, his daughter, Ruth Ann Hudspeth and a step-granddaughter, Lorna D. Lister.

Aaron served in the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II and participated in the nuclear tests at the Bikini Islands. He taught Seminary for the LDS Church and was the guidance counselor at Liahona High School in Tonga from 1965 to 1968. Aaron graduated from Idaho State University. He sang in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and served a mission with Myrtle in the San Pablo, Phillippines mission.

Funeral services will be held at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30. Friends and family may call on Monday, December 29 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 30 from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary.

Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
