ELGIN - Funeral for Walter "Kenneth" Dodson, 78, Elgin will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Elgin with the Rev. Kris Lamle and the Rev. Adraine Smith officiating.
Mr. Dodson died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at his home.
Burial will be at Elgin Cemetery under direction of Elgin Funeral Home.
He was born July 28, 1930, east of Lawton, to Walter Virgil Dodson and Etta Mae Comer Dodson. He went to Sunny Slope and Elgin Schools. He married Doris Jane Bowling on Oct. 6, 1964, in Elgin. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Elgin.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law: Cartis Joe Miller and Cicci, Yuma, Ariz.; Kenneth Ray Dodson and Gayla, Cache; and Rodney and Cheryl Dodson, Elgin; three daughters and sons-in-law: Donna Jane Miller and Tommie, Glenda Karen Gabbard and Mike, all of Elgin; and Nita Jo Cork and Jack, Cache; a sister, Carol Geiger, Sterling; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Richard and Barbara Dodson, Elgin; and Carl Dodson, Ardmore; grandchildren: Jana Miller, Dale Miller, Robert Miller, Michelle Francisco, Kara McCracken, Steven Miller, Travis Gabbard, Karen Brown, Rachell Gossett, Jennifer Curnel, JR Curnel, Ben Dodson, Tina Ballard, and John Tullous; 11 great-grandchildren; and a special neice, Cindy Rogers, Amarillo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Homer, Jim, Don, Elmer, and Albert Dodson; and two sisters: Loretta and Mary Dodson.
