Albert was first married to Regina Irene Scherden in Royal Oak, Michigan. On their honeymoon on the way to Elgin, Oklahoma they were involved in a car/bus crash and his new bride of just a week was killed. No mention of his first wife was listed in his obit. ***

• Services for Albert LeRoy Dodson, 73, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Patman officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born Dec. 9, 1927, in Elgin to Walter Virgil and Etta Comer Dodson, he died Nov. 23, 2001, in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Don, Elmer and Jim Dodson; and one sister, Loretta Dodson.

He married Edith Parnell on April 9, 1966, in Ardmore.

Dodson served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. He was the owner-operator of the Texaco station on Mount Washington Street until he closed it in 1989.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Karen R.D. Warlick, Charlottesville, Va.; a son, Michael Dodson, Tulsa; two sisters, Mary Stevenson, Lamar, Mo., and Carole Geiger, Sterling; four brothers, Homer Dodson, Cyril, Carl Dodson, Ardmore, Kenneth Dodson, Elgin, and Richard Dodson, Elgin; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Aaron Perkins, Carl Hampton, Kenneth Cook, Jerry Harris, Rick Armstrong and Joe Woodward.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
