William Carrel Childers died Thursday at his Shawnee home. He was 80. Childers was born October 16, 1920, in Shawnee to William and Blossie A. {Geyer} Childers Sr. He married Ola Richards on June 30, 1939.

Childers was a carpenter and had been a member of the Church of God Seventh Day, Tecumseh, for 63 years. He also raised cattle.

Survivors include his wife, Ola Childers of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carrel and Patsy Childers and Dean and Donna Childers, all of Shawnee; six grandchildren and their spouses, Randy and Jo Childers, Steve and Laurie Childers, Lori Holland, Jeff and Sheila Childers, Shelli and Eddie Ward and Kelly and Teddy Martin; ten great-grandchildren, Tara Childers, Lindsay Childers, Randy Childers, Corey Bailey, Lacey Childers, Logan Childers, Ashley Ward, Leslee Ward, Nicholas French and Trevor Martin; and five sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia and Snow Richards, Ruby and Jessie Lee Ott, Reva Fallin, Delores and George Birkicht and Lillie and Dale Ledford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary and three brothers, Jimmy Childers, Laverne Childers and Paris Childers.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Ruben Marquez officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
