Bradley "Brad" William Boyt, 22, of Johnston City, formerly of Harrisburg, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident on old Route 13.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008 at Riggin-Pillatsch and Burke Funeral Home in Carterville with the Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will be in Willowrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Brad was born on May 10, 1986 in Herrin to Greg and Tammy (McNeill) Boyt.
He is survived by his mother, Tammy Fitzjerrells and her husband, Randy of Bonnie; father, Greg Boyt and his wife, Jacalyn of Marion; sisters, Heather McDonald and her husband Troy of Carbondale and Samantha Ciarlo of Marion; brothers, Dusty Fitzjerrells of Bonnie and Benton Fitzjerrells of Dix; grandfathers, Jay McNeill of Ferges and Charles Fitzpatrick Sr. of Harrisburg; grandmother, Deanna Boyt of Marion; girlfriend, Desiree Childers of Johnston City; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brad was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Carlene McNeill and Doris Fitzpatrick; and grandfather, Andy Boyt.
He graduated from Harrisburg High School and he attended Johnston City schools until his freshman year.
Brad had worked as a mechanic at Midwest Waste in Marion.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and four wheelers. Brad was also an accomplished artist.
