Lon Neal, 71, Dies of Stroke
Lon Neal, 71, well known Chickasaw County farmer, died of a stroke at the Houston Hospital at 1:30 pm, Wednesday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm, today (Thursday) from the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. J E Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Norman Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Neal, was born in 1886 and had resided in Chickasaw County all of his life. He was the son of the late Harvey Neal and Nannie Bozeman Neal.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Bernie Lancaster Neal of Woodland, he leaves a son, Drummond Neal of Mantee; five daughters, Miss Lois Neal of Woodland, Mrs. Olene Springer of Howe, Oklahoma, Mrs. Maynette Smith of Houston, Mrs. Idell Purdon of Beaumont, Tex., and Miss Rene Neal of West Point; five brothers, Will Neal of Stanford, Tex., Deffie Neal of Houston, Amer Neal of Vardaman, Frank Neal of Clarendon, Ark., and Alvie Neal; two sisters, Mrs. Rena Guest of Happy, Tex., and Mrs. Esther Hamilton of Houston. Eleven grandchildren also survive.
