Moley H. Earp, longtime Shidler resident, died Wednesday, June 7, 1995, at the Fairfax Memorial Hospital. He was 84.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Webb City Church of God, with the Rev. Charles Richey, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel, Shidler Chapel.

Moley H. Earp was born May 31, 1911, in Hobart, the son of James R. and Sarah L. (Seymour) Earp. He attended Hobart area schools, then was employed as a roustabout for Skelly Oil company for 19 years.

He was married to Sarah L. LaRue on Sept. 9, 1939, in Shidler, where they established their permanent home. In addition to Skelly Oil, he was also employed by Coon Construction for several years, then moved to Newkirk, where he was employed by Kay County until his retirement in 1975. Earp also served as a lay minister until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Webb City Church of God, Shidler Masonic Lodge. His hobbies included fishing, bee keeping, gardening, flower gardening and working with wood.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah, of the home; two sons, David Earp of Pryor and Jonathan Earp of Tulsa; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy (Lovena) Norton of Sapulpa and Mrs. Roy Wayne (Esther) Hall of Beatrice, Ala.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Horinek; his parents; five brothers; and six sisters.
