David Paul Earp was born December 14, 1941 to Moley and Sarah (Larue) Earp in Shidler, Oklahoma. David graduated from Shidler High School in 1959. He served in the Navy from 1959 to 1962. David was a part of the Mayes County community since the early 60’s. David was married to Iris Coger from 1968 until 1986. From that union came his three children. He was later married to Gloria Sue Campbell from 2000-2002. He worked as a maintenance manager for Protein Technologies in Pryor from 1981 until his retirement in 2001. David was a member of the N.R.A., Romeo Club, and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. David attended First Church of God. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and re-loading ammunition; he loved cars, especially Mustangs; he was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything; and he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his daughter Sara Van Horn and husband Steve of Locust Grove; son Scot Earp and wife Lacey of Pryor; seven grandchildren Sean Wyatt Earp, Jamie Earp, Nicolas Van Horn, Jodey Earp, Sophie Van Horn, Wyatt Paul Earp, and Natalie Van Horn; great-grandchild Samilynn Faye Earp; sister Esther Hall and husband Roy; brother Jonathan Earp; and special friend Randy Showalter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Sean David Earp, and sisters Lovena and Mary.
