DIES FRIDAY

Harrison B. Lathrop, a resident of Marshalltown for 30 years, died of heart disease at 9:30 p.m. Friday at his home, 612 May street. He has been in failing health for the last eight years.

Mr. Lathrop was born Jan. 13, 1857, near Ackley, son of Icabod and Catherine Lathrop. He married Miss Barbara Ballenger at Oskaloosa July 3, 1878. They had planned to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary next July.

Mr. and Mrs. Lathrop lived near Ackley on his father's farm until 35 years ago when they moved to this city five years later.

Mr. Lathrop was a carpenter and a cabinet maker. He worked for the Ideal Manufacturing Company and different lumber companies in this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Lathrop were the parents of 12 children. Two sons preded their father in death. Peter in 1926 and Lyman Lathrop in 1906. Besides his widow he is survived by: Mrs. Jessie Mattox, Custer, S.D.; Mrs. Arthur Windecker,Ackley; W.E. Lathrop, Des Moines; Mrs. Harold Mitchell and Mrs. Emma Lathrop, both of Chicago, ILL.; Mrs. William Lama, Newton; Thomas H. Lathrop, New Heaven, Ind.; Sam F., Mrs. Tillie Fry, and Miss Mary Lathrop, all of this city.

He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

He was the last survivor of his family, all of his brothers and sisters preceding him in death.

He was a member of the methodist church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Monday afternoon in charge of Dr. F. F. Travis at the Pursel funeral home. Burieal will be in Riverside. The body will be at the funeral home until the time of the services.

The funeral of Harrison B. Lathrop, a resident of this city for the last 30 years who died at his home, 612 May street, last Friday after a illness for eight years was held at the Pursel funeral home at 2:30 Monday afternoon in charge of Dr. F. Travis. Burial was in Riverside. The pallbearers were W.W. Jondro, L.R. Anderson, H.S. Cornell, E.A. Ahrens, R.E. Lipett and H.O. Robinson. The relatives attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lathrop and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jones of Cherokee, Mr. and Mrs. Will Lathrop and daughter Gladys of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. William Lama of Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Art Windecker and sons Leonard, Willard and Windell Ackley, Mrs. Emma Lathrop and Mrs. Harold Mitchell of Chicago, Ill.
