Brown at Pleasant Ridge Friends church, with the pastor, Guy W. Harvey, in charge. A brief service at the Huffman Funeral Home in Glidden preceded the service at the church.

Helen Knight sang the same numbers she had sung for the funeral service for Mrs. Brown's husband, who had passed away in May 1948, and whose service was also held at Pleasant Ridge. The following sketch of Mrs. Brown's life was read at the service Tuesday:

Sarah Ludella, daughter of James and Lurinda Cashett, was born February 14, 1869, in Jasper County, Iowa, and departed this life on July 13, 1950, in Berkley, California, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leon Fitzgerald, at the age of eighty-one years, four months and twenty nine days. She was the last of a family of six children.

She was united in marriage to Edwin B. Brown on August twenty-ninth, 1902. To this union was born one daughter, Florence, Mrs. Leon Fitzgerald. Besides the daughter, Mrs. Brown leaves to mourn her passing, three grandchildren, Eddie, Freddie and Carol Joan Fitzgerald, and three step-children, Viola, Mrs. Claus Hartwigsen, of Scranton, Naomi, Mrs. Lyle Vaughn of Des Moines, and Irvin Brown of Coon Rapids, besides many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Brown and her husband were loyal members of Pleasant Ridge Friends church and attended services regularly as long as health permitted. Nearly all of Mrs. Brown's life was spent in Carroll county, except the last two years when she made her home with her daughter in Berkley, California. She will be greatly missed by both friends and family.
