Cecil farmed in his early life and later worked on the dredge boat and also helped lay natural gas lines in rural areas. He was manager of Chandlerville Grain for 17 years and served two terms on the Chandlerville town board. He was a member and served as Secretary/Treasure of IL Association of Duck and Goose Hunters. He was a master gardener and took pleasure in sharing the harvest.
He is survived by three sisters, Nela Sielschott and Irma Davis, both of Havana, and Jessie Stone of El Cerrito, Calif. Also surviving are four sons, Terry (Carol) Stone of San Carlos, Calif., Scott (Vickie) Stone of Canton, Rich (Verna) Stone of Chandlerville and Steve (Cathy) Stone of Virden; two daughters, Arlene (Jim) Morgan of Canton and Cookie Coughlin of Chandlerville, along with 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Cecil Eugene Stone Jr.; three brothers, John, Richard and Frank Stone; and three sisters, Mabel Jensen, Verla Busch and Mildred Adams.
Services were entrusted to Lintner-Hurley Funeral Home of Chandlerville, Illinois.
