Reno Gazette-Journal (Reno, Nevada) 27 May 1994, Friday Page 28: Esther May Troxel Gage, 86, died May 20, 1994, at Reno Healthcare. A native of Chico, Calif., she was born April 24, 108, and had lived in Reno for the past eight months, coming from Chico.

Mrs. Gage was a schoolteacher. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Josephine Chapter, Butte County Historical Society and Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Gage graduated from Chico Normal School and Chico State University.

Husband, Walker M. Jr., died in 1979; son, Samuel in 1935; brother Elmer Troxel in 1985, father Samuel Kansas Troxel in 1959 and mother, Angie Hook Troxel in 1974.

Surviving are sons, Lewis of Reno and Donald of San Bernardino, Calif.; daughter Susan Brooks of Chico; brother John E. Troxel of San Francisco; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday in Chico. Cremation will be at Sierra Crematory under the direction of Walton's Sparks Funeral Home. A memorial is being established with American Cancer Society, 712 Mill St., Reno 89502.
