SATURDAY SERVICES FOR MARGIE RUNYAN
Margie Runyan, 84, of Clarinda died Wednesday. Funeral services will be conducted this Saturday at 10:30 am at the Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1899 in the Oklahoma Territory, a daughter of Albert Scott and Belle Jesse.
On Dec. 28, 1919 she was married to Tom Runyan in Gravette, AR. The couple spent 20 years in Texas and three years in northeast Oklahoma before moving to Iowa. They lived in the College Springs area and then moved to Clarinda 15 years ago.
Survivors include five sons and a daughter: Glen Runyan of Miami, FL; Ivan Runyan of College Springs, IA; Walter Runyan of Elgin, IL; Wayne Runyan of Spring Valley, CA; Don Runyan of Clarinda and Mrs. Steve (Thelma) Young of Plano, IA; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a brother, Clyde Scott of Gravette, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1982, one infant son and an infant granddaughter.
Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery at College Springs.
