Mr. Lair was born in Collin County, Texas, January 10, 1896, a son of James Edward Lair and Annie Bell Wheeler Lair.
He was married September 19, 1916, at Honey Grove to Myrtle Brimmage who preceded him in death on October 10, 1974.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church at Honey Grove.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 9th, at Cooper-Sorrells Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Holt officiating. Burial was to follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Honey Grove.
Grandsons serving as pallbearers.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Bell Simmons of Honey Grove, Mrs. Irene Holley of Dallas, Mrs. Myrtle Wilson of Paris; 3 brothers, Elmer Lair of Dial Community, George Lair of Waco, and Mortie Lair of Honey Grove; one sister, Beulah Lovell of Fort Worth; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
