Gospel Herald Obituary 7/21/1953:
"Beller, -- John, son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schirch) Beller, was born June 21, 1860, at Blaine, Alsace-Lorraine, France, and died at his home in Pontiac, Ill., on June 27, 1953; aged 93 y. 6 d. He united with the Mennonite Church in his youth and remained a faithful member until his death. He came to the United States in 1876, was married to Mary Forney in 1879, and to this union were born 9 daughters and 4 sons. His wife died on Nov. 17, 1904, and in August 1906, he was married to Sarah Good of Hopedale, Ill., who survives. Also surviving are 8 daughters (Mrs. Joe Orendorff, Mrs. Lizzie Grieser, Mrs. Edd Yordy, Mrs. Leslie Middleton, Mrs. L. J. Hartzler, Mrs. Eli Roeschley, Mrs. Henry Heintz, and Mrs. Leo Roeschley), one son (William), 27 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren. Three sons, one daughter, 3 grandchildren, 12 brothers, and one sister preceded him in death."

"JOHN BELLER, 93, DIES AT HOME HERE; FUNERAL NOT SET"
"John Beller, 93, 423 West Moulton Street, died at his home at 8:30 a.m. after a short illness.
His body was taken to the Raleigh J. Harris funeral home. Arrangements are incomplete.
Mr. Beller was born on June 21, 1860 in Alsace-Lorraine, France, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schirch) Beller. He came to this country in 1876 and settled in Weston. He later moved to Chenoa, to Rooks Creek in 1885, Pike township in 1896 and Pontiac in 1917.
He was married in Pike township on Dec. 29, 1879, to Mary Forney. She died in November, 1904. Mr. Beller was later married to Sarah Good, who survives, on Aug. 12, 1906, in Hopedale.
A farmer by profession, he was a member of Waldo Mennonite church.
Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Joseph Orendorff and Mrs. Edward Yordy of Flanagan, Mrs. Elizabeth Grieser, Pontiac, Mrs. L.J. Middleton, San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. L. J. Hartzler, Elkhart, Ind., Mrs. Eli Roeschley and Mrs. Leo Roeschley, Graymont, and Mrs. H. R. Heintz, of Chicago, and one son, William of Pontiac, 27 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
Three sons, a daughter and 12 brothers and sisters preceded him in death."
