Mr. Joe Eros Andrews, 98, and resident of the Culleoka Community, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Life Care of Columbia.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Pastor Bob Johnson and Minister David Dault officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery at Culleoka. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 187, Culleoka 38451. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Henry Milton Andrews and Lena Cheek Andrews and graduate of Culleoka High School.

Mr. Andrews was a life-long member of Central Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder and Sunday School Teacher for many years.

His first wife, Ruby Elizabeth Madewell Andrews, died August 24, 1964. He later married Thelma Clift Wilson, who died April 11, 2005.

Survivors include a son, Waymon (Carolyn) Andrews of Culleoka; grandchildren, Deborah K. Locke and Edward (Janet) Andrews of Culleoka; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Spoon of Lewisburg, Jessica Andrews, Steven Andrews, and Julie Andrews of Culleoka; great-great grandchild, Ethan Spoon of Lewisburg; nieces, Charlie Ann (Henry) Dugger of Columbia and Mary Lynn (Alan) Freeman of Marble Head, Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Annie Louise White Andrews of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Charles Andrews Dowdy and a brother, J. Ralph Andrews.

Active pallbearers are Timmy Dugger, Chris Dugger, Chris Tullis, Steven Andrews, Jimmy Williams, Michael Richardson, Bradley Richardson, Shawn Girts, and Wesley Dugger.

Honorary pallbearers include Elders and members of Central Presbyterian Church, Bill Ambrose, Jimmy Thompson, Jacky Thompson, Mildred and Joe Cecil Crews, Dr. Gaylon Harris, and Dr. William Robinson.
