Mrs. Rema Love Sloan of Starkville, former resident of French Camp, died Friday at the Oktibbeha County Hospital following an illness of three week. She was 88.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the French Camp Baptist Church with burial in the French Camp Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Scott officiated.
Mrs. Sloan, a native of Montgomery County, was the widow of William W. Sloan. She was a member of the French Camp Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bertie Tabor of Starkville and Mrs. Neva Howard of Weir; two sons. Elwood Sloan of Spokane, Wa., and Junior Sloan of Vaiden: a sister, Mrs. Ruth Holloway of Indianola; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren .
Pallbearers were Lewis Ward, James Ward, Harold Love, Bob Bennett, Barney Thomas and Dewitt Cutts.
Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
