Gladys Mae Smallwood of Willcox died in Tucson on Jan. 30, 2008 at the age of 94. Gladys was born in Saltillo, Texas, on Nov. 24, 1913.
On August 6, 1938 in Ralls, Texas she married T.R. Smallwood and they moved to Willcox from Muleshoe, Texas in 1959. Gladys was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Willcox Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters Karen Pace of Plano, Texas and Mira (Dale) Almarode of Tucson. Also surviving are her granddaughters Susan and Stacey Pace of Plano, Texas and Amy (Dan) Comer and Savannah Almarode both of Tucson and her grandson Robert Luttig of Germany. Her great-grandchildren Michaela Foy, Tyler Willmott, Meagan Willmott and Emma Comer also survive her. Preceding her in death was her husband T.R., a son Robert and her parents John Thomas and Lula Elizabeth (Gibson) Cooper.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, at Westlawn Chapel. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Willcox Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Contributions may be made for Gladys to the TMC Hospice, 2715 N. Wyatt Dr., Tucson, AZ 85712.
Services under the direction of Westlawn Chapel, Mortuary and Crematorium of Willcox, Ariz."
