Hazel Mae Babson Evans, 77, Mulberry Street SW, Shallotte, NC formerly of Whiteville Road, Ash, NC, died Monday, September 27, 2004.
Mrs. Evans was born on August 3, 1927 in Brunswick County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Witt Wade and Stella Smith Babson. She was preceded in death by one son, Melton "Coot" Hewett; two brothers, Nelson Babson and Herman Babson.
She is survived by her husband, David Evans; three sons, James Hewett, and wife, Nancy, Ash, NC, Randy Hewett, and wife, Annette, Shallotte, NC, and Donald Hewett, and wife, Connie, Colonial Heights, VA; four brothers, Mose Babson, Shallotte, Burtis Babson, Holden Beach, NC, Toby Babson, Ash, NC, and Belton Babson, Columbia, SC; four sisters, Jackie Cox, Lida Coleman, Eudell Smith, all of Ash, NC, and Donnie Stone, Reidsville, NC; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30th in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel by the Rev. William Chappell and the Rev. Brent Evans. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Shallotte, NC.
