Hazel Middleton 93 of Richmond went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday December 14, 2008. Hazel was dearly loved by her family and friends. She taught those that knew and loved her about the value of unconditional love. Hazel was a homemaker. She loved to read, garden, and spend time with her many grand children, great grand children and great-great grandchildren. Hazel was a long time member of Fairview Baptist Church and was a devout Christian. Hazel was born to James Garfield and Sarah Howard Nantz in Leslie County, Kentucky on March 13, 1915. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Roy, Noah, and Emerson, and Oscar Nantz, and her two sisters Venice Nantz and Ella Bingham. She lost at childbirth two children Jane Middleton and Willard Middleton and later in life a daughter Shirley Maxine McLemore. Two grandchildren Tereasa Ann Taylor and Susan Coleen McLemore also precede her in death.

She is survived by two sons Robert Brian Middleton of Covington, Kentucky and Dillon Reid Middleton (wife Judy) of Venice Florida and a daughter Naomi Alma Taylor (husband Thomas) of Richmond, Indiana. Six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great, great, grandchildren survive, as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Wednesday December 17, 2008 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. John Jones officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
