Janet Toepfer, 66, of Denver, CO, a former Hays, KS resident, died Wednesday, October 9, 2002, at the Rose Memorial Medical Center in Denver. Janet was born February 24, 1936, in Hays to William and Celestine (Ruhu) Toepfer.

She was a graduate of Girl's Catholic High School and Fort Hays State University. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church of Denver. She was an office secretary.

Survivors include four brothers: Lyle Toepfer of Hays, Irvin Toepfer of Dodge City, KS, Vern Toepfer of Phoenix, AZ, and Larry Toepfer of Claremont, CA; two sisters: Mildred Ruder and Cecilia Bickle, both of Hays.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Toepfer and two sisters: Lillian Ward and Laura Mae Dinges.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2002, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Toepfer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays.

A memorial has been established with the Annunciation Catholic Church in Denver, CO, in her name and memory.
