Dora was the second child of John M. BEARD and Rachel SMITH. When she was 23, she married Charles Edward CLAUSER. Eleven months later, she birthed her only child, a son whom she named Guy Dewitt Clauser. She never regained strength after childbirth. She was able to hold her baby before she died, but she never had the strength to get out of bed. Her son was born October 17; she died November 22.
