Elverta "Birdie" Abrams, 79, Northern Cambria, formerly of Altoona, died Wednesday. She was born in Patchinville, daughter of Elmer and Mae (Hockenberry) Woodside. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. Surviving are children: Betty Findley and Joseph; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Elzie. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to the 1 p.m. service Saturday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Northern Cambria. Interment at Harmony Cemetery.
