Frank Edward "Ed" Cole (1918-2007)
Frank Edward "Ed" Cole, 88, of Russell, Ky., died Monday, June 18, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Cole was born July 24, 1918, in Lee County, Ky., a son of the late Medley S. Cole and Minnie Frances Couch Cole. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Stella Marie Fraley Cole; brothers Wayne Cole, Raymond Cole, Otis Cole, Lucien Cole, Ishmael Cole and Robert Cole; sisters Della Cole Cox and Ruhama (Nell) Cole; and great-granddaughter Jessalyn Amber Garrett. He was retired from Ashland Oil as No. 1 pumper for the asphalt department. He was a member of Beech Street Christian Church and American Legion Post 76. Mr. Cole is survived by two daughters, Rita Sharon Cole Sylvia of Russell, Ky., and Karen Sue Cole Hathaway and her husband, Ed, of Enon, Ohio; grandchildren Charles David Sigler Jr., Gregory Edward Sigler, Doug Hathaway, Julie Hathaway Edlund and Kristi Hathaway Garrett; a stepgrandchild, Suzanne Marie Sylvia; great-grandchildren Gregory Scott Sigler, David Edward Sigler, Catherine Colleen Sigler, Benjamin Edward Sigler, Cole Bradley Sigler, Kyle Edward Hathaway, Elijah Edlund and Gianna Noelle Edlund; and a granddog, Daisy Mae. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007, at James A. Music Funeral Home, 224 Main St., Greenup, by the Rev. Kenneth Vaughn. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.
