Mrs. McCoy, 79, died in Lake Alfred , Fla. Monday morning, Nov. 17, 2008. A native of Warsaw , Ga. , she was a member of Lake Blackshear Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Johnny L. King and the late Marinda M. Middleton King.
Mrs. McCoy is survived by her sons: James M. McCoy of Villa Rica, Ga. and Ernie C. McCoy of Alburndale, Fla. ; a brother: Earl King of Penney Farms, Fla. ; her sisters: Mary R. Phillips of Washington, Ga. and Velma Hadwin of Yemassee , S.C. ; grandchildren: Shelly Foley and Ammie Elmore; and two great-grandchildren.
CORDELE — Funeral services for Myrtle Lee McCoy were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 in the chapel of Hughes and Wright Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Elmore, Mrs. McCoy's grandson-in-law, officiated the services. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery with Rev. Phil Streetman officiating.The service began with the playing of two prerecorded songs, "You Raise Me Up" and " Valley Of The Shadow ."
