Loving husband, father and grandfather, Overton A. Nabaum age 75, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 10, 2008.

He was born October 20, 1933 to Overton A. and Velma Ellen Cole Nabaum. He grew up in Union, Utah and graduated from Jordan High School in 1951 and received a diploma from Salt Lake Community College in 1987. He married Colleen Collard on January 30, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Overton was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many capacities. He and his wife, Colleen served a mission in Gilmer, Texas in the Texas Dallas Mission and a mission at the Conference Center as Church Service Missionaries. Overton served in the US Army and retired from Kennecott Copper where he worked as a welder and truck mechanic. He then worked at Geneva Steel for nine years. He loved being with his family, serving in the church, hunting, camping and traveling.

Overton is survived by his wife, Colleen, children; Michelle Reeves, Sherry (Brian) Prendergast, Mikianne (J. Fitzgerald) Royal, grand daughters; Ashley Reeves and Hannah Royal, stepbrothers; Larry (Sherry) Stauffer and Steve W. (Maureen) Stauffer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Parkway Third Ward Chapel, 10206 South 3200 West, South Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah and from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the South Jordan Memorial Park.
