She was born September 16, 1921 to Frederick Clinton and Sarah Vilate Cheney in Brigham City, Utah. As a young girl she moved to Salt Lake City, where she lived the rest of her life.
She has a daughter, Colleen McKee, from her first marriage to Kenneth L. Andrews. She later married Henry Boyd Ellerman and has a second daughter, Janet Hays. Their marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on January 23, 1968. Faye will be remembered for her determination, love of music, and her care and service to others. Many were blessed by her love.
She is survived by her husband, Henry (Hank) Boyd Ellerman; her daughters Colleen McKee and Janet Hays; her sisters Donna McCracken, Marva Brown and DeLone Murdock; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother Clinton (Glen) Cheney; sisters Hazel Ralph and Helen Hicks.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City. On Monday, December 15, 2008, a second viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Burial will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
